Tayor |
Dave: Remember Richard Simmons?
Taylor: I do. Curly hair, always sweaty, loud, obnoxious.
Dave: Running around in that tank top...
Tayor: Yeah.
Dave: ...with the too-short shorts.
Taylor: It reminds me of a different day and age.
Dave: I just saw a news article on him. He’s taking on a new case, some greatly obese guy who’s around 800 pounds or so, can’t stand up. You know, Richard Simmons is all about motivation.
Taylor: Right.
Dave: He gets all teary-eyed when he meets his clients. So, he’s going to take this guy on as a personal case and, you know, work him out, get this guy down to a healthy weight.
Taylor: That’s admirable of him.
Dave: Yeah.
Taylor: Do you know how he’s getting paid for this?
Dave: Maybe he’ll spark sales again in his Sweatin’ to the Oldies series. I’m not sure.

Discussion
Richard Simmons was very overweight as a child. In his adult life, he became very depressed because of his weight problem.
After living briefly in Italy, Richard Simmons moved to Los Angeles, where he opened a unique exercise center. Instead of helping skinny people become skinnier – like most weight loss and fitness programs – he decided to help people with severe weight problems lose weight and live healthier lives.
