Hello Movie Fans!
This week Miguel and I talk about, or argue about may be more specific, the new Harry Potter movie. I accuse Miguel of having no sense of adventure when he puts down the movie. He accuses me of having no taste in film. Listen to the conversation and decide for yourself who puts up a more convincing argument.

Anna

Miguel

Anna: Miguel, I’ve got a confession.

Miguel: What’s that?

Anna: I saw the second Harry Potter movie and I loved it!

Miguel: Really, well I guess that says something about your movie tastes ‘cause I am not a Harry Potter fan.

Anna: Do you have no sense of adventure or imagination?

Miguel: Uh, well I believe that that exists in the book, but the movies are just stupid. I mean, did you see the Quidditch scene in the last one.

Anna: Awesome, I always wanted to play Quidditch and after that scene I needed to buy a broom!

Miguel: (laughing) Okay, so tell me about the new one, is it any good?

Anna: Of course, the, they’ve done just a great job, the movie producers, of following the book and just making the characters come alive where you’re sitting there watching the movie and it’s like you’re reading the book. I think it’s just fantastic.

Miguel: So the special effects are good?

Anna: Even better, you thought the Quidditch match was bad…you’ll be blown away by the special effects in this movie.

Discussion

Okay, so I’m a big Harry Potter fan and Miguel is not, that was pretty obvious from our discussion. I don’t think this series is literature, but it is definitely entertaining. If you have any sort of imagination you will enjoy this movie! It is fantasy or science fiction so let yourself go and have a good time. If you are still hesitant, I’ve summed up the plot for you below.
The movie begins with Harry being locked up in his room by his uncle Vernon, who is dead-set against his return to Hogwarts. Dobby an elf appears in Harry’s room, telling him that terrible danger awaits him at Hogwarts. Despite the warning, Harry escapes and gets to the school. Once there, Harry begins to hear a mysterious voice, and it turns out that the sinister Chamber of Secrets has been reopened, and the creature set free has begun to attack students. Who opened the Chamber? Unless the culprit can be found, the wizardry school is doomed. Harry, Ron, and Hermione hatch a plot to find out what’s behind it all.
