The differences between "need, request, requirement, and demand": If you "need" something, you have to have it. If you want to come to englishbaby, you "need" a computer. If you request something, you are asking for it. "I would like to request a computer because I need it." If it is a requirement, it is something you need. It is a requirement to go to school to get a degree. You require a computer because you need it. You make a request for it because you need it….it is a requirement for school. Demand is different… If someone takes your computer and will not give it back, you demand that they give it back. It is a foreful way of telling someone something. It is not a question or a request. It is you insisting on something. You demand it. If someone spills a drink on your computer, you will request that they pay for it. If they say "no", then you demand it. I hope that helps : /
